Could Outlander Season 4 come to Netflix U.S. before February?
Outlander Season 3 has just been released on Netflix U.S. Is it possible that the streamer could get Season 4 before the new season is released in February?
After surprising us during the summer with the first two seasons of Outlander on Netflix in the U.S., the third season was released on Dec. 10. Now all eyes are on whether Season 4 will be available on the U.S. streamer before the newest season is released in February.
It’s not clear just yet. I will be honest and say that the release of the third season this month surprised me. I didn’t expect that to happen sometime in early 2020, so there is the chance that the fourth season will be released.

However, I don’t think that’s going to be the case. STARZ will want to have something exclusive to its streaming service. It will want to encourage you to subscribe for more episodes, and the best way of doing that is to make sure at least one full season is available to watch, ready for the newest season to arrive. In this case, it means keeping the fourth season since Season 5 is the one premiering in February.
I think that the fourth season will be released a few months before Season 6 premieres on STARZ. This will continue to encourage people to subscribe to STARZ throughout Droughtlander for two full seasons of content. Then just before the release of Season 6, the fourth season can be made available on Netflix U.S., encouraging people to watch Season 5 through STARZ before the release of the new season.
It’s an ingenious plan. This is a great way to boost the promotion of Outlander throughout the year since more people are likely to find it through Netflix. Then it boosts the STARZ subscription base as fans need to catch up with the next seasons to be able to discuss the show with fellow fans.
