Outlander Season 5: Things look tense in a newly released image
There’s a new image of the Fraser/MacKenzie clan for Outlander Season 5. Things are looking tense, but why could that be?
There’s a new image released for Outlander Season 5. Unlike the recent images that give us a look at Claire and Jamie and Claire’s surgery, this image is all about the Fraser/MacKenzie family. The family is home on Fraser’s Ridge, but it doesn’t look like a happy reunion.
Looking through each of the faces, there’s certainly tension in the room. Well, if the whole family is together in the small cabin, I guess that’s not all that surprising. Wouldn’t you feel a little tense if you were all living on top of each other? The Big House couldn’t come soon enough.

All joking aside, it’s important to assess why there are some tense faces. Town & Country, which released the image, doesn’t share why everything looks upset and stern. It is likely linked to the growing tensions within the Colonies at the moment. After all, Jamie has been tasked by Governor Tryon to create a militia to take down the Regulators, namely Jamie’s godfather, Murtagh.
It’s also worth noting how the two couples stand separated. Claire and Jamie are together at the front of the image. Brianna and Roger stand together by the fire, further in the back. Could the two couples have issues with one another?
The issues are likely between Jamie and Roger. Sure, Jamie wants his daughter to be happy and Roger wants to respect Jamie, but it’s not easy. There’s a lot of water under the bridge. Could there be too much? Memories of the previous season are certainly going to crop up now and again. Or at least, they should!

And then there’s going to be the problem of Brianna being a 20th-century woman in the 18th-century world. Claire had a little easier, but Brianna is a completely free spirit. She is used to a world where she has a voice and is able to use her engineering abilities, but that’s not possible in the past. Yet, her family is in the past and she’s not just going to want to move back to her own time.
