On this day last year, Outlander Season 4, Episode 3 aired for the first time. The demo ratings ticked back up, but what about the audience?

On Nov. 18, 2017, Outlander Season 4, Episode 3 aired for the first time. It would give us the first look at Roger and Brianna after saying goodbye to Claire back in Season 3. Just how did the ratings hold up?

The demo ticked up by 7% from the previous episode, according to TV Series Finale. However, the audience move wasn’t as positive. That ticked down by 1%. That’s not all that much, and it still is worth remembering that the ratings are just based on the Live + Same Day viewings. This doesn’t take into account the number of people who would have watched directly on the STARZ app or those who caught the episode later in the week.

More from Opinion

Titled “The False Bride,” the episode brought us Brianna and Roger in the 20th century. We had a chance to see how their relationship had developed since Claire left for the past. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite go the way we had hoped. The longer process of bonding that happened in the novel, “Drums of Autumn,” had to be reduced to just one episode in Season 4 due to timing. So, what started off as a great relationship ended with the two breaking up.

Meanwhile, Claire and Jamie went in search for land that they could call their home. They decided it was time to head to a major town, something that Claire had requested. However, a journey through the woods would lead to finding the place that would become Fraser’s Ridge.

With the focus shifting towards Roger and Brianna for a little, it’s not all that surprising that the demo ratings ticked up for this episode. The younger viewers would have had a couple to follow from this point. I only wish we’d had more time in Season 3 to see their relationship and chemistry grow. Here’s hoping that happens in Season 5.
