Murtagh and his Regulators are going to have to communicate in secret. Gaelic would be the perfect way for Outlander Season 5.
The storyline with the Regulators will step up the pace in Outlander Season 5. They’ll need to communicate in secret, and Gaelic is going to be the best way to do that.
Most of those in the Regulators are Scottish. They’ll remember the Gaelic used when they were in the Highlands. Even if it’s just those who create the plans, using some Gaelic to communicate will be the best option. It’s unlikely that most of the British soldiers will read and understand it.

This will also be an excellent way for Jamie and Murtagh to communicate. They’ll be able to pass messages of warning between each other, especially now that Jamie has the orders to form a militia and kill his own Godfather. The two will need to communicate in some way without being caught.
One of the issues is that not all the Regulators are going to speak and read Gaelic. Not all will be from Scotland. There will be Irish, Welsh, and even some from various parts of mainland Europe. This will certainly mean that Gaelic can’t be used all the time, but it can be used enough to communicate many plans in secret.
There will be some Redcoats that can read and understand Gaelic. The Regulators will need to be aware of them. There’s already been an issue of a spy in the camp. However, with the use of the language, it may be easier to weed out those who aren’t true believers in the cause.
This will just be a small part of the story. However, using the Gaelic will help to bring some of the feelings of the past. We’ll have the reminders of when the Highlanders kept Claire out of the lop and when the Jacobites were communicating through coded letters. There will also be the reminder of when Claire managed to get a note to Jamie in Gaelic.
