Mark Barrett has recently been cast in Outlander Season 5. He’s already at work, sharing a photo of his time on set.

Last week, we learned Mark Barrett was one of the new faces joining Outlander Season 5. It looks like he’s being quickly put to work, as he’s shared a photo of the set.

The downside of the photo on his Twitter is that he doesn’t give too much away. All we get to see is the vans that bring in the sets, costumes, props, etc. We haven’t had a chance to see Barrett’s costume or any of the sets around him.

All we can currently do is speculate what role Barrett has in the series. Due to his looks, there are many speculating that he’ll play William “Buck” MacKenzie, the son of Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan. However, there’s been no confirmation of this just yet and the image of the actor on set isn’t going to tell us anything.

What is good to know is that he’s getting straight into filming. There’s hope that he’ll continue to show images of the set (even just the trucks) to give us an idea of how long he’s going to be on the show. This may give us an idea of the number of episodes he’s in, helping us figure out which character he’ll be playing.

The image also tells us something else: the rain has stopped for now. Scottish summers can mean a fair bit of rain, which the producers will have planned for. Recently, Caitriona Balfe and Tim Downie have both shared videos of the rainy or cloudy weather. Barrett’s image has clouds but the sun is trying to break through.
