Outlander Season 5: Will Fraser’s Ridge grow?
Outlander Season 5 is a time to discuss family. That’s the theme, which should mean we see Fraser’s Ridge growing.
In Outlander Season 4, Claire and Jamie built their first home. It was just a cabin that would house the two of them (and Young Ian and Rollo when there). However, Outlander Season 5 should see Fraser’s Ridge grow.
We got a chance to see Jamie attempt to grow the Ridge during the fourth season. That was how he learned that Murtagh is one of the Regulators, fed up with the British taxes that forced many men to lose their homes. Jamie doesn’t want that to happen but he can’t afford to remain at the Ridge without people living there.

We already know that Outlander Season 5 will be about family. That’s more than just the blood relations and adopted relations. Family includes the tenants for Jamie — his tenants at Lallybroch were like family to him and Jenny. So, we should see the Ridge grow in the fifth season.
It’s not clear who we’ll see from “The Fiery Cross” just yet. Despite filming, the only new cast member we know about is a certain mischievous but adorable cat. There have been no casting announcements about the various Fraser’s Ridge tenants that show up and cause some problems. However, we can expect many of them, especially the Christies.
There won’t be too much time to focus on the families on the Ridge, but there should be some time devoted to them. After all, the tenants play important roles in lives of Jamie, Claire, and others. They’re necessary for future storylines, so they’ll need to be introduced in Outlander Season 5.
I’d hazard a guess that we’ll see Tom and Malva Christie, the Bugs, and the Beardsleys. We’ll probably also see Morag MacKenzie return, along with her husband. All these characters are key to future storylines, both within “The Fiery Cross” and beyond. I won’t share why for those who haven’t read the novels back, although there will be a post later that delves deeper into this characters.
