If you hadn’t realized, Sam Heughan is working on releasing his own whisky with Great Glen Company. That launch is getting one step closer.

While filming Outlander Season 5, Sam Heughan is working on the launch of his own whisky line with Great Glen Company. It’s been going on for some time, and now it’s getting one step closer to the end.

There’s no date for the launch just yet. That’s not going to come for a while. Right now, it’s all about perfecting the taste of the whisky.

More from Sam Heughan

That’s something that’s happening right now. Heughan shared on his Instagram that he and Great Glen Company are almost there on making the “perfect whisky blend.” And yes, he writes it without the “E,” which is the Scottish way of writing the word. It’s not a typo!

It would be interesting to hear about what went into perfecting this blend. Maybe Heughan will share more about it when it comes to the launch. Right now, he’s a busy man and can only share the quick updates for the process up to the launch.

We’ll bring more updates as we get them. However, they are few and far between, as the focus is on Outlander Season 5 for the time being.

One thing I will say is that we shouldn’t worry about what his decision to launch a whisky means for the series. He’s worked on this launch for some time now and this is a man just making sure he has all his bases — and interests — covered.
