5 best lines from Outlander Season 1, Episode 15
Outlander Season 1, Episode 15 may have been a traumatic episode but there were some excellent lines to come from it. Here are my five favorite lines.
Outlander Season 1, Episode 15 is one of the most traumatic episodes of the whole series. The production certainly ramped up the violence and gore for the final two episodes of the first season. However, despite the blood and gore, there are some excellent lines to come from “Wentworth Prison.”
It’s time to look back at those lines as we get through Droughtlander. Here are my five favorite lines from the episode.
For me, I always knew I was fated to dangle from the end of a rope, so I made sure to leave none behind to mourn for me.

I love that we get this moment as it throws us back to just before Claire and Jamie’s wedding. Those living as outlaws may have a dream of love and happiness but they know that it’s all just a dream. At the end, they know that they’re better off with nobody to mourn for them.
Jamie had once mentioned that he wasn’t a worthy husband. While he likely dreamed of a life with a woman, deep down, he knew that he’d have been better off away from everyone in the world. That just never happened and now all he can think of is the regret of being caught because of what it would do to Claire.
Customarily, we send them on to whomever the prisoner designates as a next of kin, after execution. Perhaps you could take it to them.
Sir Fletcher is an easy man to convince. It’s not surprising that mentions of Christian goodness would help to sway him in Claire’s favor. What was a little unconvincing was how easy it was for Claire to lie — she’s never been a good liar! — but I’m glad that we got it in this moment.
Fletcher realizes that he could offer her something, even if he doesn’t want her to see Jamie. So, he offers the box of things. It is a small something but it just spurs Claire on to rescue her husband.
I’m afraid that the Duke of Sandringham likes to talk. Especially when he drinks.
While it’s more of a throwaway line, it’s an important one for the future. With Jamie locked up and sentenced to death, burning the letter of complaint shouldn’t really matter to much. But what about when he gets away? Of course, Black Jack Randall doesn’t think that will happen.
This line is also important because it reminds us that we can never trust the Duke of Sandringham. The man is on his own side and he will protect those he needs to now and then.
I’m afraid you will come to regret that small act of humanity.
Claire and Jamie knew that they would regret the decision not to kill Randall when they had the chance. Jamie even mentions is in the voiceover when he saves Claire at Fort William. However, little did we know was that it would come up in Outlander Season 1, Episode 15.
Black Jack knows that there was a sense of mercy. But that means nothing to him. He sees mercy as weakness. That small act of humanity gave him another chance.
I know how we can save young Jamie.
Murtagh takes the last line for me. He has this grin on his face, as he realizes just how they’re going to break Jamie out of prison. It may be a suicide mission but with the cattle, they’ve got a strong chance of succeeding.
I’d love to know the aftermath of the cattle running into Wentworth Prison. I mean, it would be a good excuse to avoid the noose for the farmer. You can’t control cattle, right?
