Sam Heughan teases call about James Bond

There have been talks of Sam Heughan playing the next James Bond for a while, but they’ve all been a rumor. However, the actor has now teased that he’s got a call for the iconic role.

Those who are fans of Sam Heughan will know that there have been talks about him playing the next James Bond. However, up until now, the talks of the iconic role have all been rumor. Now it looks like it could happen after a major tease from the actor.

After MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz mentioned either Sam Heughan or Tom Hiddleston being named as the next James Bond, Heughan decided to quote retweet to share that he’d just received a call about it. It’s not often that an actor will state this, so fans aren’t too sure whether we should take him seriously or not.

Naturally, we can see it. After watching The Spy Who Dumped Me, there’s no denying that Heughan could take on the iconic role. The question for many of us is what that would mean for Outlander and this may be why Heughan has decided to mention it on Twitter.

If he’s talking about it then it’s possible that he got a call but turned it down. There are chances that filming schedules wouldn’t work. However, filming for the next Bond movie with Daniel Craig is still to happen. That will be the last movie with Craig as the role and then it moves onto someone new. There’s plenty of time for Heughan to finish filming the next two seasons of Outlander and then do a movie role.

And I’m definitely not saying that would be the end of Outlander! Before anyone jumps to this conclusion, I’m just saying that there could be a break in filming that’s long enough to allow him to film another movie. It’s not like Heughan hasn’t done this before. During last summer, he filmed Bloodshot and previously he’d filmed The Spy Who Dumped Me. There’s plenty of time to fit in a James Bond movie.

So, is Sam Heughan the next James Bond? It sounds like people want him to be. I’ll keep my eye on what’s to come with this suave role.
