Governor Tryon has certainly been mentioned but will Tim Downie return to the role in Outlander Season 5? Will we get to see the Governor of North Carolina again?

Governor Tryon quickly made a mark in Outlander Season 4. As Governor of North Carolina, he was able to offer land to the Frasers, which immediately put them on the wrong side of history. Now Jamie has been ordered to form a militia but will we get to see Tim Downie in the role of Governor Tryon again in Outlander Season 5?

Despite the letter to create the militia, there’s no need to actually see the character again. At least, not until the very end of the season. This is a governor, and he’s going to do as much as he can through messengers — you know, the group of soldiers that it took to deliver one letter to River Run.

More from Opinion

We just have to look at the book, “The Fiery Cross,” to see that the majority of communication is through letters. There’s no need to see Tryon until the very end.

I’ll keep out the spoilers for what happens for those who are show-first or show-only fans, but basically, the Battle of Alamance is coming in in the world of Outlander. Should the show follow the book timeline, we’ll get to the Battle of Alamance and that means Governor Tryon will need to show up — he is the governor, after all. He also has a part in the storyline for one of the core four characters.

So, we should see Tim Downie again. It just probably won’t be until the end.
