5 top takeaways from the Outlander Season 4, Episode 13 promo and synopsis
Can you believe we’re at the Outlander Season 4 finale? That airs on Sunday but for now, let’s break down the trailer and synopsis to get an idea of what to expect.
The Outlander Season 4 finale airs on Sunday. It’s come far sooner than many of us thought and I’m not too sure if I’m ready for this beautiful story to end. But it will for another season and the trailer and synopsis are out for Sunday’s episode.
It’s not going to be easy to fit everything from the books in. That’s always the case, but I have a feeling something particular will be missed out at the very end to keep the focus on the growing family and search for Roger.
Before getting into my break down, here’s a look at the trailer and synopsis for Outlander Season 4, Episode 13.
"Jamie, Claire and Young Ian finally reach the Mohawk Village where Roger is being held captive, but their attempt to barter for Roger’s freedom goes awry when a ghost from Claire’s past upends their negotiations and reopens old wounds among members of the tribe. Meanwhile, back at River Run, Brianna grapples with her fears of parenting alone as the birth of her child approaches."
5. The ghostly Native is back

Remember back in Episode 3 when Claire saw the ghost of a man? She later found out the skull had a silver filling, telling her that this was a time traveler. That storyline is about to come into play.
During the trailer, one woman tells the story of a man who came to her and her tribe with knowledge of the future. This man wanted the tribe to kill all white people. Clearly, he was someone from the future with knowledge of the things that would happen to the Natives.
4. Brianna and Claire will reunite
After spending a few episodes apart, Claire will make it back to her daughter. Regardless of how this plays out in the book, there’s a shot in the trailer of Brianna and Claire talking. Claire wants to get Brianna away from River Run.
It looks like Claire is only just back from her time searching for Roger. There’s no sign of Jamie, Young Ian, or Roger. There’s not even any sign of Lord John Grey! However, it’s clear that Claire feels strongly about something that is going on at the plantation.
Speaking of something going on…
3. Murtagh isn’t happy with Jocasta’s lack of action
Murtagh was freed from prison and has clearly made it to River Run. Now it’s time for him to interact more with Jocasta. He wants to fight, clearly willing to make the ground on River Run rocky and Jocasta doesn’t want to do that.
This is her home. She’s already shown that she’s willing to stick with expectations of most of the people around her. Murtagh is a revolutionist and there are going to be some choice words between them — and a glass of water being thrown.
2. Brianna will likely give birth
There’s a shot of Brianna running towards someone. She’s at River Run and the way she is dressed and moving make it look like she’s given birth.
Could this be Roger returning from his time at the Mohawk village? Is it possible that she’s just so happy to see him that she’ll romantically run to him? Or is she trying to stop something from happening?
Whatever the reason, there’s no baby bump. This has to be towards the end of the episode.
1. Roger will be found
Whether Roger will be saved or not is another thing, but it’s clear from the synopsis for Outlander Season 4, Episode 13 that Roger will be found. Even the trailer suggests that Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian find out where he is.
Jamie and Young Ian are alone when they go into the village. This is likely to keep Claire safe, but it does seem short-sighted. Why would Roger want to be around Jamie and Young Ian after what they did?
Then there’s the question of whether the Mohawks will give up their prisoner. It’s going to take something big, especially after what Roger did in the last episode.
