There are a lot of concerns that Outlander Season 4 has just two episodes left. Is there enough time to fit the rest of Drums of Autumn in?
Outlander Season 4 is almost at the end. Sunday sees the penultimate episode air, which means there are just two episodes left in the whole season. Is that enough time to tell the rest of the story in “Drums of Autumn?”
I know the immediate reaction is “hell, no!” There are so many who want to see the book fully adapted. After all, these are books many have read for 20 years and they want to see their favorite scenes transformed to the screen.

That’s understandable, but the showrunners have always been dealing with the impossible. There’s just too much in the books to put into the series. Storylines have to be condensed and some of the favorite moments have to be missed out.
But with two episodes left, what does that mean for the adaptation? Will there be enough time for all the storylines?
The honest answer is no. There isn’t enough time but the showrunners planned for that. Some of your favorite book moments will be cut and storylines will need to be condensed. However, the bones of the story are going to be there.
This condensed version could work out to be good, in a way. According to TV Line, there’s going to be a simplification in the story that makes more sense than how it happens in the book. The spoiler bit doesn’t go into any more detail than that, but it does help to ease some of the fears of what’s to come in the next two episodes.
