Is there any hope for Brianna and Jamie’s relationship in Outlander?

Just as Brianna and Jamie were building a bond, secrets came out and ruined it. Is it possible for them to get that relationship back on Outlander?

Outlander Season 4 finally brought Jamie and Brianna together. However, this fragile relationship has been damaged because of various secrets. As Jamie heads off in search for Roger and Brianna deals with pregnancy and fends off potential suitors, we have to look at the future. Is there any hope for the two moving forward?

This is a relationship damaged from both sides. Jamie will learn that Brianna wanted Claire to keep secrets from him. Sure, it was for an understandable reason, but she still put her mother in a difficult position. However, it’s Brianna who will struggle the most.

Roger has been beaten and sold to the Mohawks because of Jamie and Young Ian. Naturally, she’s angry and scared. This isn’t just the man she loves. He came back for her and he’s possibly the father of her baby. Scared for him and scared for herself, all she can do right now is blame Jamie (and Ian and possibly Lizzie).

Brianna isn’t in the right frame of mind right now. At the moment, she’s focused on the current situation but about when she’s had time to think it all through?

It’s still going to be hard for Brianna to move forward. She’s seen a side of Jamie that scares and worries her. Whether she was right in slapping him or not, she has gained an opinion of Jamie and it’s not a good one.

This is a woman who after 20 years has met her biological father. They’d spent a couple of months getting to know each other, but she is loyal to Frank — the man who did raise her and the man she’s viewed as her father. With a lack of bond with Jamie, their relationship was already uneasy and this incident has clouded her view almost immediately.

While she could eventually give him a chance (she does understand why her mother has fallen in love with Jamie), it’s not going to be easy. When/if she gets Roger back, her mind is going to be on him and not on her relationship with Jamie.
