Troubles are coming to a head in Outlander Season 4, Episode 8. Here’s everything we can take away from the trailer and synopsis for the episode titled Wilmington.

Everyone is now in North Carolina in the 18th century. In fact, everyone seems to be in the one place, Wilmington. Outlander Season 4, Episode 8 will bring us drama, reunions, and danger. So, the standard Sunday night, right?

As usual, the promo and synopsis give us a hint of things to come in the episode. It’s going to be one that sees all our main characters and some of our favorite friends and foe join together.

Just to make you aware, this is looking at the promo and synopsis, so there will be some spoilery bits and pieces from them but nothing that will tell you what’s to come in the future from the book. Here’s a look at the promo and synopsis first.

"Roger’s desperate pursuit of Brianna finally pays off. Meanwhile, Jamie’s loyalty to the Governor is tested when he learns of a plot and ultimately decides to team up with Claire to avert disaster."

5. Jamie’s loyalty and friendship are put to the test

With Murtagh now named as the leader of the Regulators (what happened to no leaders?), there’s a bounty out for him. Jamie’s loyalty to the governor but friendship to Murtagh are put to the test. There’s no way that he’d want his godfather put at risk if he can help it.

The problem is that this won’t be easy. Jamie finds out while at the Governor’s Ball and that means Jamie has to sneak away. It can’t possibly be that east.

4. Murtagh is planning something dangerous

More from Spoilers

While the governor has figured out Murtagh’s role in the Regulators, it’s clear that Murtagh is up to something. At one point he’s hiding in some long grass, which could suggest he’s on the run or he’s waiting for something to happen.

Will Murtagh be offered safety at Fraser’s Ridge? It’s not going to be easy for Jamie and Claire to offer that, though. This means we’re looking at Murtagh either being harbored illegally, putting in prison, or running away to keep himself safe.

3. Brianna meets Stephen Bonnet

Brianna mentions in the trailer that she’s looking to book passage to Cross Creek. It’s not surprising that Bonnet seems to be the one that’s heading that way. Along the way, she finds Claire’s ring.

Knowing who this ring belongs to, Brianna will fear that something has happened to her parents. She will also likely fear what has happened to her mother for this ring to be taken and whether the gold band from Frank has also gone. One thing it tells Brianna: Bonnet isn’t a good man.

2. Family bumps into each other

There’s a moment that Roger bumps into Fergus, asking if he’s seen Brianna. This is a man who is desperate to find his ex and he will stop at nothing to manage it. But I love that this leads to family bumping into each other without realizing.

This moment in passing would usually be forgotten about in the future. It usually isn’t in TV, but I know if I bumped into someone in the street, I wouldn’t remember who it was or likely what they looked like as it would be such a small part in the day. How will Roger and Fergus react to each other when they know one another?

1. Brianna and Roger reunite

There’s already a clip from STARZ that confirms this but the Outlander Season 4, Episode 8 promo gives it away too. Brianna and Roger will end up running into each other. They just happen to be in the same pub when Brianna is looking for passage to Cross Creek.

What exactly will this reunion be like? There is an image (above) that hints there will be a happy reunion but then there’s a part of the trailer that shows Brianna on a ship alone. What’s driving the two of them apart this time?
