During Outlander Season 4, Episode 6, Jamie said something that could change everything for Willie? Did young Willie Ransom take Jamie seriously?

When the Cherokee warriors came for blood, Jamie admitted that Willie is his son. It was an outburst made in desperation and there was an initial look from Willie that questioned everything. However, it was never brought up and has made many of us wonder whether Willie does believe Jamie is his father on Outlander.

Let’s be honest, the situation was intense. Jamie was just trying to protect Willie when he burst out saying “he’s my son.” The idea was that blood was required and family has shared blood. It made sense for Jamie to share the truth.

That look from Willie as Jamie said it made it clear that his head questioned the possibility. In the end, it looks like he just believes Jamie said it to protect him, but there’s possibly a part of him in the back of his mind that wonders if Jamie said the truth.

Willie will know that Lord John Grey isn’t his biological father. At least, he should do. He should also know that Isobel was his aunt and not his mother. Of course, the two raised him and looked after him, making them his adopted parents and he has viewed them as mom and dad, but he should know the truth that the family knows about his parentage.

Now he could start to question everything. Did Jamie only say “he’s my son” because of the situation? Was he lying to protect Willie or was it a true statement? Willie never brought it up, possibly because part of him doesn’t want to know the truth.

At the end of the episode, Willie looks back. It’s a beautiful nod to “Of Lost Things,” when Jamie refused to look back. There’s a glimmer of hope, but there’s also a look. Willie has that look of question, possibly wondering whether Jamie is his biological father or not.

Getting confirmation would ruin a lot for him. He wouldn’t have the rights to the estates he does anymore. Part of him, even at the age of about 12, will understand that. But that won’t stop him questioning what happened. It could come back in the TV series.
