It’s time to head to both the 18th and 20th centuries tonight. Outlander Season 4, Episode 3 will focus on Claire and Jamie starting their life away from River Run while Brianna and Roger find love together. It’s not all going to be sunshine and rainbows in “The False Bride.”

While Claire and Jamie look for a place to settle down, Brianna and Roger realize that they may have different opinions and expectations in life. Roger is certainly a man of his time. He’s a gentleman but he’s also a traditionalist. Meanwhile, Brianna is a mixture of her parents. She’s independent, strong, and stubborn. The mixtures may not work that well right away.

As for Claire and Jamie, they need to figure out what to do next. We’ll see them leave River Run and it’s clear that the slavery discussions from the previous episode are the reason. This is a change to the book but works for the TV series since with 13 episodes a lot of time can’t be spent in one location.

There’s a beautiful sneak peek out, which shows why Claire doesn’t want to head to Boston. It’s possibly a question many non-book fans have about the couple and the answer is perfect.

We’ll see more of John Quincy Myers in the episode and I have a feeling his storyline is going to connect to Young Ian and Rollo’s to help speed some of the storyline up a bit. We’ll have to wait and see, though.
