Earlier this week, a sneak peek for Outlander Season 4, Episode 2 was released. Claire finally gets to meet Aunt Jocasta. What can we take away from the clip?

A sneak peek for Outlander Season 4, Episode 2 is here and it’s time to get an idea of how the episode will go. Claire and Jocasta discuss slavery and beliefs during the clip. It’s one that we seen snippets from in the trailer, so it’s not surprising it’s being used as a sneak peek for tonight’s episode.

You can watch the full clip at TVLine. Here are three things I’m taking from it ready for “Do No Harm.”

1. Claire is getting better at lying

She’s still not great at it, but Claire has certainly had a little more practice. That’s not surprising considering she was able to lie about Brianna’s paternity for two decades. However, that didn’t involve a lot of questions straight to her face.

In this sneak, Jocasta asks outright if Claire is a Quaker. After all, the viewers against slavery were their views and Jocasta will know that. Claire denies the beliefs but very quickly thinks of something on the spot. At least, it looks like she’s thinking about it on the spot since we haven’t seen her knowingly treat Quakers.

While I’m getting a little fed up of Claire pushing her views, I like this scene and this reasoning. For once, Claire has something to fall back on as an excuse rather than trying to dance around the fact that her views are from 200 years in the future. Plus, he views no longer seem completely out of place with knowledge of the Quakers’ views.
