Outlander: Who won’t time travel before Thanksgiving?
We know that two people will travel through time in Outlander Season 4. Is it just one or both that won’t travel before Thanksgiving?
Outlander Season 4 will see two time-traveling people. If you’ve read the books, you know exactly who I mean. Those who haven’t may have an idea already. After all, these aren’t spoilers that have been well kept! And I’ll warn you now that I’ll mention both people’s names in due course, so if you don’t already know, consider this your spoiler warning.
TVLine shared that we won’t see “a certain person” time travel before Thanksgiving. This was in response to a fan question and the aim was to keep the details spoiler free. The problem is that there is some ambiguity in the question and the answer. Who is the “certain person?”
I’d suspect that this “certain person” is Brianna Randall. She will be the first to go through the stones and we’ve seen her dressed in 18th-century clothing as she places her hands on the stone that sent Claire through time. The scene looks extremely similar to the way Claire went through in the pilot.

It would make sense for this not to take place before Thanksgiving. The episode airing at Thanksgiving weekend is Episode 4. This gives us three episodes to fully establish this relationship between Brianna and Roger since it wasn’t fully established when Claire went back to the past. Sending Brianna through in Episode 5 would add another throwback to a previous season, with Claire heading back in Outlander Season 3, Episode 5.
Filming of Brianna in the past was also later in the process. While the scenes and episodes aren’t filmed in order, there’s a good indication of what will happen and when. Brianna in the past didn’t get filmed until around the halfway point, which suggests the episodes occur around the halfway point. With 13 episodes, that means Episodes 5-7 would make sense for a journey to the past.
If it’s not Brianna and she travels earlier that Thanksgiving, that “certain person” will be Roger. He travels after Brianna in the books. Of course, the books could change things slightly so Roger and Brianna travel at the same time, but the trailer only shows Brianna at the stones.
