Outlander book fans will know all about the meddling pig that constantly shows up. Will we see it in Outlander Season 4? Sam Heughan has shared a few spoilers.
While there are a lot of questions about whether certain characters from the books will show up or how characters not killed off will be handled, a lot of book fans want to get into the details. One of the questions many fans have is whether a certain white sow will show up. Sam Heughan has shared a few Outlander Season 4 spoilers to give fans the answer.
There will definitely be a meddling pig in the season. This particular sow is a running gag throughout Diana Gabaldon’s novels, adding a humorous twist now and then with her nuisance, evil ways. However, there is going to be a twist and this time it is purely to do with filming.

Trying to get a pig to do everything that Diana Gabaldon has written into her novels would be impossible. Training dogs and horses is one thing, but training a pig? It’s not as easy. That means there are elements that need to be adapted or some scenes missed out.
Heughan shared with TVLine that a certain donkey will show up and he will most definitely be a PITA. Those who have read the books will know the name Clarence.
While it may be disappointing to know that the white sow isn’t getting up to as much as in the books, this is something that realistically couldn’t happen. It’s the time that books and creating stories in the mind are so much easier than showing them. But at least it’s going to be there.
