Outlander Season 4 image: What’s going on at River Run?
There’s a new image for Outlander Season 4 out. Claire isn’t happy by her surroundings, but what exactly is going on?
STARZ continues to ramp up the promotion for Outlander Season 4. With a little over a month to go, we’re getting more images and trailers released. Right now, we’re looking at an image that Entertainment Weekly got a first-look exclusive on.
In the image, Claire, Jamie, and Jocasta stand front and center. Ulysses and some of the other plantation slaves stand in the background and on the right is a Redcoat with rifle in hand.

The big question right now is what this means for River Run? Sure, we could look at the book for the answer, but what’s the fun in that? We don’t know how much of the story is going to be taken from the book, where this image is taken from, and there are some people out there who haven’t read the books for whatever reason.
Speculation is fun and it looks like River Run is under threat. This isn’t surprising considering the Outlander Season 4 trailer. Jamie mentions that there’s danger and we see townspeople storming the plantation at one point.
Assuming this is from the premiere episode, this is going to be an intense introduction to life in the Colonies. There’s a chance that the people who work on the plantation aren’t happy with Jocasta for some reason and may feel threatened at the Frasers being there.
Alternatively, this could be linked to the growing tensions between the Patriots and the Loyalists. Jamie and Claire initially start on the wrong side of the law, which means they’re against many of the opinions of local tenants and workers. With the plantation serving the British Navy and relying on money from the Navy, people will start to riot against River Run because of the tensions.
We’ll have to wait until we get a little more information or until we watch the episode. However, it’s certainly fun speculating.
