Who’s holding the baby in the new Outlander Season 4 image?

STARZ has released another promo image of Outlander Season 4. The big question is who is the person holding that baby?

Outlander Season 4 has another promotional image out. STARZ shared one of Claire Fraser and another woman shortly after the delivery of a baby. The mother of the newborn is also visible but has her back to the camera. Now the big question is the new mother is.

There are two main possibilities based on the book “Drums of Autumn.” As you would expect, we’re getting into spoiler territory for those who haven’t read the novel yet.

The most likely answer is the Meuller baby. Gerhard Meuller is a German pastor who live on Fraser’s Ridge and Claire helps to deliver his grandchild. Later she learns Petronella (the mother) and the baby die, which devastates her.

The other theory is that the woman holding the baby is Brianna. However, there are a few reasons against this theory.

For one, this would be a major reveal for Outlander Season 4–and a storyline that doesn’t occur until towards the end of the season. There’s no way STARZ would release something like that, would they?

Another reason against it is that the hair is too dark. Remember Brianna has striking red hair and that isn’t going anywhere in the fourth season.

And the third reason? Well, Jamie isn’t in this photo. One of the most highly anticipated moments of Brianna and Jamie together is Brianna wanting her dad by her side. It wouldn’t be normal for the day and age, but she needs both her parents in this time.

Also, let’s remember that the birth of the child isn’t an overly joyous one. Of course, Brianna would love her baby regardless, but she’s worried about what Roger will do when he learns of the child because there’s a chance this baby isn’t Roger’s at all.
