Is Caitriona Balfe still going to Creation’s Outlander New Jersey con?

With the news that some of the cast are no longer attending Creation’s Outlander New Jersey con, fans are afraid another main star won’t make it. Is Caitriona Balfe attending the Seracrus, NJ con at the weekend?

It’s a difficult year for Outlander conventions. After already canceling his appearance at Outlander Las Vegas con, Sam Heughan had to do the same for this weekend’s convention. Tobias Menzies and Steven Cree have also canceled their appearances. Now fans are worried that Caitriona Balfe isn’t going to Creation’s Outlander New Jersey con.

It’s an understandable fear, especially considering the price of the conventions. While it’s impossible to say what will happen in the future (because I’m not able to pass through the stones), so far Caitriona Balfe is going to the New Jersey convention.

She did cancel her appearance at Highlanders 3, presumably for filming. That took place at the weekend just gone and it was still good fun for many. Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, Nell Hudson, and Lauren Lyle were among the guests at the British convention.

Creation has added seven guests to the New Jersey con to make up for Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, and Steven Cree not being there. The same happened in Las Vegas and many fans of the series had fun (despite being disappointed at the lack fofSam Heughan).

However, fans are calling for Creation to be more honest. It took the event coordinators a week to confirm Tobias Menzies wouldn’t be there after he’d already informed fans on Twitter.

The official site has now changed the banner for the Outlander New Jersey con showing just Claire, which was the banner used when Sam dropped out of Las Vegas. This suggests that she’s still going, but it will be worth keeping your eye on the emails that come through! I’ll try to keep you updated at the same time.
