Sam Heughan’s newest movie is finally hitting theaters around the nation today. The Spy Who Dumped Me is going to be a spy comedy and you just know there will be a love interest thrown in there. Mila Kunis and Sam Heughan would be my initial guess.
So, now it’s out, what do you need to know about it? Are you ready to see it? Here’s everything that you could possibly need to know.

Let’s start with the basics. The movie is about a girl (Kunis) who is dumped by her boyfriend. It turns out he was a spy and now the girl and her best friend (McKinnon) find themselves in the middle of an international spy conspiracy.
Heughan is one of the spies. He has an English accent for the majority of the film, but there are cases where he puts on an American accent. This was something brought up in Heughan’s interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week.
What rating is it?
The Spy Who Dumped Me has been given an R rating. It’s unusual for a comedy like this to be rated R, but there is some graphic nudity, strong language, and crude sexual content. If you’re an Outlander fan, you’ll likely be fine watching it. After all, you’ve got through some steamy but also uncomfortable viewing.
What are the reviews like?
While it’s only just been released, there are already reviews. While the trailer looks hilarious, there are mixed thoughts about how the movie turned out. A lot of the reviews are focused on Kate McKinnon saving the movie or not having enough to do — see what I mean by mixed?
Very little is mentioned about Heughan’s performance. So if you’re going to see it for him, keep an open mind.
Honestly, I don’t pay any attention to critics anymore. Most of the time I enjoy the films they hate and hate the films they love. So, for me, this will probably be a good comedy to sit back and just enjoy.
