Sam Heughan shares his Barbour Signature collection and its inspiration
Many Outlander fans know Sam Heughan is the Brand Ambassador for Barbour clothing. Did you know he also has his own Signature collection?
You’ve likely seen Outlander‘s Sam Heughan step out as the Brand Ambassador for Barbour. He regularly shares updated photo shoots on his Twitter, using some of the images as his profile image to keep it up to date and relevant. However, many don’t realize that he has his own Signature collection through the brand.
The Sam Heughan Signature collection at Barbour is based on his own tastes and style, he told The Scotsman. He loves the outdoors and you can see that through the Tartan line. But it’s not just about a bit of outdoor-style Tartan. The actor draws on his home nation and the heritage, a love of which he’s been able to grow while playing Jamie Fraser.

However, if you’re looking for something for inner-city living, you’ll still find love int he collection. Heughan made a point that he likes something versatile. While it needs to look fashionable and be practical on the Scottish hillsides, it also needs to work well on the New York streets.
All the while, the designs are inspired from older collections from Barbour. It’s all kept in the family, bringing a modern style to past looks.
It also turns out that his love for the clothing isn’t just because he’s landed the position as the face of the company. The family-owned business has a special place in his heart and part of that certainly comes from being Scottish. He’s worn Barbour for years, even before becoming Brand Ambassador, so everything that’s come since only makes sense.
On top of that, Barbour clearly wants him to remain the face of the brand. After all, the company is willing to work around his busy filming schedule and his charity work, both of which are extremely important to him. It looks like this is a match made in Heaven, just like the role of Jamie in Outlander has been for him.
