Outlander Season 4 spoilers: First look at Young Ian
Young Ian plays a major role in Outlander Season 4. John Bell hasn’t been spotted much in filming photos, but now an official first look at his character for the season has appeared.
During Outlander Season 3, there is no doubt that Young Ian stole hearts of people watching. He was adorably sweet and you just wanted to give him a cuddle and help him find the adventure he was craving. Despite being on the Artemis in the storm, he’s made it out alive and will be in the Colonies during Outlander Season 4 and now we have an official first look at his Colonial-style character.
John Bell hasn’t been spotted much in filming snaps from the fans. Starz has produced the first official photo of the character, although it’s clearly a behind-the-scenes photo as he’s getting dressed up by the costume department. However, his Colonial hat is visible sending shivers down many of our spines.

One fan was quick to share that she couldn’t wait to see the adventures Young Ian and Uncle Jamie get up to while in the Colonies. Of course, that led to a small joke from Starz, who commented “adventures AND misadventures.” The two will never be able to stay out of trouble. Young Ian may be a mixture of Jenny and Ian Murray, but he’s got Fraser blood in him and that’s always trouble!
Bell has certainly had some of the best lines in Outlander Season 3. He told Geillis everything we were thinking during his scenes with her and commented about the last minute saving from Jamie and Claire. He is a character to watch, but that mouth may get him into a spot of bother as the trouble brews between the British and the Patriots throughout the next few seasons.
