May will see new original content from Starz and Vida is just one of them. Could this be your new Sunday night show to get you through Droughtlander?
We’re all looking for ways to get through Droughtlander. For some it’s only and all about Outlander, but there is so much more out there on TV. Starz is bringing more original content next month and one of those pieces will be Vida, a series about two Mexican-American sisters.
It’s something completely different to Outlander, but that doesn’t mean it’s a waste of your time. The story focuses on the two sisters who return to their L.A. home after the death of their mother. It all looks pretty simple. Within their grief, they need to decide what to do with their mother’s bar and selling it and splitting the profits looks like the best option.

That is until they learn their mother was keeping an important secret from them. She’d married someone without telling them; and not just any someone. The sisters learn their mother married a woman, who is set to inherit a third of the bar. And the widow isn’t ready to sell.
Meanwhile, they’re also still finding themselves. Expect plenty of steamy scenes, very much like Outlander, especially as one of the sisters meets a man that she’s attracted to. The two also need to form their bond again. They’re not close, with completely different interests.
This isn’t your typical story, and it looks like a mixture of comedy and drama according to the promo. Take a look and decide if this is your way to get through Droughtlander with your Starz subscription. It starts May 6, along with Sweetbitter, and will run half-hour episodes.
