Sam Heughan shares his Peak Challenge to raise money for Cahonas Scotland
Sam Heughan is taking on his own Peak Challenge this year, in an effort to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer.
If you haven’t heard, Sam Heughan is tackling two marathons in the space of two months. The first will be on April 29, when he takes on the Stirling Marathon. He recently shared an Instagram photo of him training to get ready for it. The two marathons are his Peak Challenge for the year and will raise money and awareness for Cahonas Scotland.

Heughan’s efforts will help to raise awareness of male cancers, testicular cancer in particular. There is a lot of embarrassment around the various male cancers, but there really shouldn’t need to be. Because of the stigma, many men go undiagnosed until it is too late or until the chances are extremely slim. Heughan doesn’t want you to do that!
He’s working with Cahonas Scotland, a Clydebank-based charity that has now created a T-shirt campaign to help raise money. The campaign has already raised £16,000 ($22,700) for the charity.
Sam Heughan’s Peak Challenge
Heughan’s two marathons are his Peak Challenge for the year, making him an official Peaker.
My Peak Challenge (MPC) was set up in 2015 to encourage people to get fitter and healthier. Members, known as Peakers, will set a Peak Challenge for the year. This can be a fitness one, but it can also be life or diet based. This is a 12-month challenge and you get help from Jamie Fraser himself (or one of his team of coaches). He sets up nutritional plans and shares fitness tips to help people become healthier, happier versions of themselves.
Marie Curie is one of the charities benefiting from MCP this year, making it clear that cancer is an important subject for Heughan.
