Outlander Season 4 filming returning to Craig na Dun
Outlander filming continues and this coming week will see it at Craig na Dun. Where will the story take fans?
This last week of OutlanderSeason 4 filming has seen the village of Culross changed for the series. Parts of the area were blocked from the public to film some of what looked like the Scottish scenes. Photos of Sophie Skelton, Nell Hudson and more were taken, showing that Brianna is indeed coming back to the 18th century and will likely eventually meet her father.
But now it’s time to look forward. The filming is moving to Kinloch Rannoch, which has been used for Craig na Dun in the past. Yes, the show is going back to those beautiful standing stones of Scotland. While Craig na Dun doesn’t really exist, Kinloch Rannoch has a good set of stones that work in place of Outlander’s own.
Well, more specifically Tullochroisk Farm has the set of stones. This is close to Kinloch Rannoch in Perthshire.
What does this mean for the series?

Now there’s a big question over why the series is going to Craig na Dun. Does this mean Claire and Jamie will head back to Scotland? Will Claire take another trip through the stones?
If the series sticks to the books completely, this is extremely unlikely. Outlander Season 4 filming may be out of order, so this is actually for Brianna to step through the stones. There are also other characters who can travel through, so the story may focus on them instead. I won’t say exactly who, as those would be major spoilers!

It’s unclear just how long the crew will be at Tullochroisk Farm. Outlander filming is also likely taking place in other parts of Scotland as you read, as Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan haven’t been spotted at the recent locations for filming. After all, the two are supposed to be in the Colonies, while Craig na Dun is in Scotland!
