Does Outlander have a signature moment?
Outlander fans respond to the call of what they think is Outlander’s signature moment is.
Every great TV show or movie has a signature moment; that one moment when you are asked to recall a scene from the show you instantly think of. For example, a lot of people would say that the “Red Wedding” in Game of Thrones is their signature moment. Supernatural fans might say it was Dean Winchester being dragged to hell or the closing of the trunk in the pilot episode. Die Hard movie fans might say it was John McClane saying; “Yippe Ki Yay…” (you know the rest).
Every fandom has a moment; you may disagree on what that moment is, but, every fandom has one. So when it comes to Outlander what is it? Has Outlander even had their moment appear yet or are we still waiting for it?

Where did this come from?
The Outlander Cast Podcast were the ones to raise the question. They put it out via their official Twitter account asking;
“Every show worth it’s salt has a signature moment…Has Outlander had it’s signature moment yet? If not, what’s the first scene that comes to your mind when you think of #Outlander ?”
Fans have been responding to the tweet with their suggestions and so far we have the follow;
"“Their wedding night…..but the memory fights with the first time they met as well and Jamie was injured….”“Arrival of McQuarry played by Douglas Henshall.”“When Jamie comes out of the church at their wedding and sees Claire.”“When Claire chooses not to go back thru the stones… “On your feet, soldier. Take me home to Lallybroch.””"
One fan even made the suggestion that each character from the series has their very own signature moment, which was a nice suggestion as well.
If there isn’t a signature moment yet, does that mean Outlander isn’t a great TV show? Or does the show just not need one, because Claire and Jamie’s love story is epic enough?
For me, that signature moment has to be when Claire chooses Jamie; that moment she decides not to go back through the stones. There was fear and uncertainty on her face. For those who hadn’t read the books, it’s wasn’t really clear which choice she would make. Sure, to stay with Jamie she’d have to choose him, but did she just stay because the stones didn’t allow her to pass? Instead, we got the moment she followed her heart and accepted life as an 18th century healer and lady.
