Outlander’s Caitriona Balfe Crowned E! Online’s Girl on Top 2015

Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Randall-Fraser in the Starz hit Outlander has been crowned E! Online’s 2015 Girl on Top!

Cait was up against Emily Bett Rickards who co-stars in the CW show Arrow.

The Girl on Top competition was a three week long voting extravaganza that culminated in Cait and Emily squaring off. The fans decided their fate over a three day long weekend (Whoopa Labor Day!).

Less than 2% separated the two for most of the final voting period, which ended on Monday, September 7th. Throughout the entire competition, Cait and her loyal Outlander fans beat out 63 other contestants in five rounds of voting.

Outlander fans have definitely proven their loyalty, and Cait has shown her appreciation on Twitter. She’s also expressed her desire for us to take it all a step further and use our voices (and social media, and clicking fingers) for a greater cause- by helping those in the Syrian refugee crisis.

What better prize than to see your voice being spread far and wide to do good in this crazy, messy world we live in?

Of course Outlander fans already knew Cait was a class-act, but hopefully now everyone can see that besides being beautiful and talented she’s also a kind and caring global citizen.

Congratulations to Cait and Outlander fans all over the world who made this happen. Caitriona joins her co-star Sam Heughan in the recent spotlight. Sam recently won the Radio Times Sci-Fi TV Champion. Keep being awesome, you two! The Outlander family is behind you, and we can’t wait to see where this journey will take you- and us!

Outlander is currently in production for Season 2. A release date has not yet been announced. Emily will return with Arrow on The CW Wednesday, October 7th.
