Now that fall is officially less than a month away—also the most popular time of year for weddings and romance—you’ll want to have a few shows in queue to help you get cozy! Pretty soon, our hours of sunlight will dwindle down to an underwhelming amount, but that doesn’t mean the fun is over!

These shows are going to be perfect for date nights, hosting watch parties with friends, or just to enjoy for some quality “me time”. It's all about the romance this fall.

Bridgerton

If you’ve been teetering on the fence of starting this franchise, it most definitely lives up to the hype! The books are so well written and easy to read, especially being that there is some “old English”. Not to mention, the producers and directors of the Netflix series have really succeeded in making this period drama come to life with relatable characters, a stunning wardrobe, and authentic romance. If you haven’t started the series yet, Bridgerton season 4 is set to release sometime in 2026, so starting this fall would give you a fair amount of time to get caught up.

Bridgerton takes us through the love stories of eight siblings, the Bridgertons, and each sibling gets their own season of the show. Typically, the focus is on whether they will marry for love, convenience, or even take a path outside of marriage. Since the story of each sibling is told chronologically, I would recommend watching the seasons in order.

You also get a few back stories that allude to Bridgerton spinoffs by author, Julia Quinn. Queen Charlotte is one of these spinoffs, which is also available on Netflix. I love how Quinn and showrunner, Shonda Rhimes, have brought so much diversity and representation throughout the books and television adaptation. Grab your tea and scones and have a ball watching or re-watching Bridgerton this fall

Love is Blind season 9

Love is Blind fans are currently watching season 2 of Love is Blind UK, with the finale coming up on Wednesday, Aug. 27. This season has been full of drama as usual, but there might also be some hope that some of the engaged couples will get married! The show is set up like speed dating at the beginning, except you can’t see the people you are on dates with. Singles are challenged to get engaged without seeing each other, if they find a compatible partner that they think could be “the one”.

The Love is Blind franchise is now popular internationally, and there are quite a few successful marriages that have come from the show. But like most reality TV, there are also villains, lies, and deceit. Love is Blind Season 8, which was the last season that featured U.S. couples, aired in February of this year. Luckily for fans, season 9 is already coming to Netflix soon! You can expect to join the pods this October to see who finds love, and who might just have ulterior motives for being on television.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Without a doubt, this is the hottest show of the summer! The Summer I Turned Pretty season 1 and 2 premiered within a year of each other, in 2022 and 2023, and fans were left hanging for two years to see how the love triangle would play out! We are quickly approaching The Summer I Turned Pretty series finale, which is set to air on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

If it’s a happy ending, you might find yourself rewatching the series this fall, since so much time passed before the last season. But if the ending doesn’t go in your favor, you’ll probably regret the time and emotions that you’ll inevitably devote to the love story between Belly, her first love Conrad, and his brother Jeremiah, who has also loved Belly since they were kids.

Catch up now and choose your side (Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad) before the show ends! Other shows and movies by the same author, Jenny Han, include To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, X.O. Kitty, and P.S. I Love You. These shows are worthy of a re-watch on Netflix if you like the teenage romance genre.

Wicked: For Good

According to Deadline, Wicked: Part One broke at least nineteen box-office record, the most impressive being that it was the “Highest Grossing Movie Ever Based on a Broadway Musical at the Domestic Box Office”. The stellar cast, special effects, and Broadway success probably had a lot to do with the movie’s success.

The past year has felt much longer while fans waited for the part 2 premiere to be announced. Wicked: For Good is set to release this fall, on Friday, Nov. 21, just in time for Thanksgiving break!
While Wicked is not solely a romantic drama, there is definitely a few romantic interests explored throughout that you’ll want to see.

With these five varied suggestions, hopefully you have found something to satisfy your thirst for more romance this fall.

Stay tuned for the latest romance news, featuring shows like Bridgerton and The Summer I Turned Pretty, with Claire and Jamie.
