It's a wrap! Outlander Season 8 filming comes to an end!
It is officially the end of an era. We knew it was coming, but now it’s official. Outlander Season 8 filming has come to an end. That’s the end of filming of the series!
The cast and crew marked the end of filming on social media. It comes shortly after celebrating filming the 100th episode. It’s a bittersweet moment for fans and cast alike.
In a way, there’s an ending. This series wasn’t canceled with someone hanging out of a window or a life being left on the line. Fans will get closure to the show storylines—and there are the books to bring closure there. The cast has a chance to say goodbye to each of their characters. However, it’s still sad to say goodbye to something we love so much.
The Outlander cast shares what they would take from set
While sharing the news of Outlander Season 8 filming ending, we got photos of various cast members sharing what they would take from set. Some of them were genuine items, while others were funny quips.
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe started it off by saying that collectively, they would take “everything,” although Balfe on her own would take “a nap” and Heughan would take “Jamie’s kilt.” We can agree with both of them.
For Sophie Skelton, it’s all about the mustang, while Richard Rankin wants to leave with his “dignity.” David Berry and Diarmaid Murtagh would take rings. It’s not clear whose ring Berry wants to take, but Murtagh makes it clear that he wants Buck’s ring. For John Bell, it’s all about his tomahawk and war club. Naturally.

We don’t have a date for Outlander Season 8, but we’re probably looking at it arriving in late 2025 at the very earliest. I’d go with 2026 to be honest with how long post-production can take. In some good news, we have Outlander Season 7B still to come and Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
