Outlander Season 6, Episode 4 brought us a powerful episode for Young Ian. Here’s a look at the big questions we ended up with afterward.

I have to say that, for me, Outlander Season 6, Episode 4 has been one of the strongest episodes of the series so far. I adore Young Ian, and getting the story of his time with the Mohawk was important to me.

Not only did the episode offer us a backstory, but we got some closure for Young Ian, too. He was able to reconcile the two parts of his life and find a balance. In fact, it was a way to accept loss and merge the two parts of his life together.

There was a lot more going on, though. Here are the big questions I had by the end of Outlander Season 6, Episode 4.

5 biggest questions after Outlander Season 6, Episode 4

1. Will Young Ian be able to move forward in his life now?

Up to this point, we’ve seen a young man stuck in his life. He wanted to find a path forward, but he was stuck with his grief and his own internal questions. Now he has a chance to move forward. There’s a chance for him to find happiness, but who will that be with?

2. What will Fergus do?

We seemed to get a hint that Fergus was ready to move forward with his own life, too. He can’t provide for his family the way he’d like on the Ridge, and it seems like Jamie has accepted that. Now it’s time to find something for Fergus to do that makes him feel important and needed. There was a hint in his conversation with Jamie about what he could possibly do.

3. How does Kezzie speak so well?

Fans remember that Kezzie Beardsley was deaf in Outlander Season 5. He suddenly seems to have been cured. I had this question straight after the episode, and then I remembered the book storyline. It is explained in the book, and it’s a shame the show didn’t find a way to make a quick explanation for it.

4. Have Bree and Jamie saved the Cherokee?

I doubt this is a question we’ll get any answers to, but it’s something on my mind. Bree told Jamie about what’s to come for the Cherokee and other tribes in the area. Jamie found a way to warn Bird. While Jamie couldn’t warn everyone, Bird has taken the warning seriously and he will make sure the generations to come hear the story so they can hide when the time comes. Will that really happen? Has Bree managed to change some of history, even just for a few people?

5. What is Malva up to?

Claire and Jamie got an intimate moment at the end of Outlander Season 6, Episode 4. They weren’t alone, though. Malva watched them without being seen, and it’s clear this wasn’t just for pleasure. She’s up to something. What exactly is it? This is all to come in the next four episodes.
