Has Fergus hinted at what he’ll do next in Outlander?
Fergus had a smile on his face during Outlander Season 6, Episode 4. He also seemed to make some hints about what he wants to do next.
Poor Fergus. For the first three episodes of Outlander Season 6, we’ve seen him struggle. It all came to him almost taking his own life. Thankfully, Jamie was there to stop him. Now he has the support he needs, and we did get to see a smile on his face during the new episode.
Jamie is trying to find something for Fergus to do that is useful and important. In the new episode, that meant delivering news. It’s within this scene that we get a hint of what Fergus will do to support his family.
Fergus thinks about the past in Outlander Season 6, Episode 4
During the scene, Fergus thought about the past in a good way. He mentioned how he remembered printing the news with Jamie.
This was something the two did in Edinburgh. It wasn’t just to print the news but also to help the illegal businesses that Jamie was up to. Out of everyone, Fergus was always there for Jamie to trust, and Jamie made that point in the scene.
When the Frasers initially decided to settle in North Carolina, Fergus tried to find work in printshops. He had the experience, but people wouldn’t take him on due to his hand. That led to the family moving to the Ridge, but it’s clear that Fergus still wants to do that. He was good at it, and he would be able to support his family.
This whole scene seems to hint at what Fergus will do next. It makes sense for him to go back into printing if he can find someone to take a risk on him. Or maybe he should just open up his own print shop.
Of course, book readers know what is to come. Just how much of that storyline will be followed considering the series will also want to find a way to keep Cesar Domboy and Lauren Lyle in it?
