Can you believe we’re at the Outlander Season 5 finale already? The promo is here, and it looks intense. Here are the top takeaways for the episode.

The Outlander Season 5 finale is going to be one of the hardest episodes to watch, especially if it follows most of the storyline from Book 6 that it’s based on. The promo for the episode is here, and it’s time to break it down.

I don’t want to think of the Droughtlander that is to come after this. Instead, I’m focusing on the devastation that is sure to happen during the episode. It’s a harrowing experience for Claire, and one that we need to be ready for.

Here’s a look at the promo for Outlander Season 5, Episode 12 before we get into this final breakdown of the season.

5. Jamie is back in his kilt

Jamie has lit the Fiery Cross and his militiamen are answering the call. All those that were at his gathering are going to help him find Claire and get her back. But that’s not the only important thing for Jamie.

He’s back in his kilt. This is a clear sign that it means war. He didn’t wear the kilt for the British Army. He wouldn’t wear it at Alamance. He does it in a time of need; in a time of fighting for something he believes in. Jamie will do anything for Claire.

4. Young Ian has made it back

There’s a moment that Young Ian is putting on his war paint. This isn’t just a war for Jamie, but for everyone involved.

But there’s something to take from this. It took two weeks for Young Ian, Roger, and Brianna to reach the stones. That means two weeks have passed from Claire being kidnapped for Young Ian to be back. That makes our third breakdown even more heartbreaking.

3. Claire will face the worst attack of her life

During the book, I don’t remember it taking so long for Jamie to find Claire. In the show, it looks like it will take two weeks for Jamie to find Claire. That’s if Young Ian’s travel time is anything to judge. Of course, the initial attack could have been a couple of weeks after Claire was looking at those portraits, but it still suggests some time has passed.

It’s no wonder that Claire is struggling to deal with the attack. This is going to be the worst one of her life. Please do prepare for it.

2. There’s a body at the Ridge

Jamie covers something. It looks like a body in Claire’s surgery. Is this a hint that they find someone to lead them to wherever Claire is?

It could be a storyline from the books; one that involves the Bugs. I guess we’ll have to wait to see how all this plays out, but it looks like there’s a body at the Ridge.

1. Jamie is reassuring someone close

Jamie walks out of the Big House with some men. John Quincy Myers and Fergus are part of the group, but Jamie reassures someone that he’s going to get Claire back.

This could be Young Ian. It would make sense considering how close Young Ian is to Claire and what he’ll learn when he gets back to the Ridge. It could also be Marsali, who may blame herself for Claire being taken.

With Bree and Roger not seen or mentioned at all during the promo, it’s possible that it could be them. We have no idea where they ended up, but it’s possible they didn’t travel at all. Will this allow Roger to be part of the group to get Claire back?
