Get the tissues ready for Outlander Season 5, Episode 7. Something tells me we’re going to need them based on the title. Here’s a look at my suspicions.

If you’ve read “The Fiery Cross,” you know there’s a heartbreaking storyline coming for Roger. It’s something we’ve been curious about whether will be included. It looks like Outlander Season 5, Episode 7 is going to be that episode.

As a word of warning, I’m going to share some of the details of “The Fiery Cross.” I’ll put another warning when I get into the details, but I want you to be aware now.

Sam Heughan has mentioned before that Episode 7 is going to be a difficult episode. The title of the episode suggests that it’s the one we feared. After all, why else would it be titled “The Ballad of Roger Mac?”

This isn’t the title of a chapter in “The Fiery Cross,” which is sometimes the case for some episodes. Instead, it’s clearly a focus on the storyline that will be told. And Roger MacKenzie is going to be the main focus.

We’re getting into the spoilers here!

There’s a storyline that we suspected would be included. After all, it’s a major storyline for Roger in “The Fiery Cross” and has a knock-on effect in later books. It was only a matter of when and not if the show would include it. We saw some potential leaks of the scene taking place.

That storyline is when Roger is hanged. It won’t get into the full storyline behind it but know that Roger’s ancestor, William “Buck” MacKenzie, has a lot to do with it. It’s all thanks to Buck’s wife, Morag Gunn MacKenzie, and Roger spending some time together.

Roger is viewed as a traitor and is hanged. It’s up to the Frasers and Bree to get to him in time. Don’t worry; we’re not saying a permanent goodbye to Roger, but things will change.

He almost loses his life and he certainly loses his voice. This connects to “The Ballad of…” After all, we’ve heard Roger singing a lot. We know his voice is important to him. It’s going to have a huge effect on his mental health.

And I get the feeling we’ll need the tissues ready for Outlander Season 5, Episode 7. If the full storyline doesn’t take place, something will.
