Outlander gets us ready for Roger’s story with new promo poster

Outlander continues with its promotion of the fifth season, bringing us more posters. This time, we’re getting ready for Roger’s storyline.

STARZ is ramping up promotion of the fifth season. The Outlander Season 5 official key art is focused on Claire and Jamie, but now posters remind us that other characters have important storylines. The first is Roger Wakefield MacKenzies.

The poster is dramatic. Set with the night sky and a few flames around him, Roger looks ahead. He’s ready for whatever is coming towards him. Although, I’m not sure we can say the same. After all, this is going to be one of the hardest seasons for Roger if the show sticks to his book storyline. And I think it will judging by a previous image released and some leaked images during filming.

Roger also has to deal with being in a different time period than his own. His initial plan was to head back to his own time once he found Brianna. They both seemed to have that plan. And then things happened that kept Brianna in the past.

Now Roger has decided to stay for Bree and their son. Whether Jemmy is biologically Bonnets or not (and we know the truth now), Roger is claiming paternity and he is going to stand by his son. His family is in the past. There’s nothing left for him in the future except for his job.

Of course, that doesn’t make things easy. He needs to figure out how he can live in the 18th century. What are his skills? What can he do to support Brianna and Jemmy? Will he and Jamie even be able to get along?

We’re ready for most of Roger’s storyline, just not the trauma we know is to come. STARZ makes us even more ready with the promotional poster.
