Outlander Season 5 directors: Two confirmed for first four episodes

The directors for the first four episodes of Outlander Season 5 have been confirmed. There are two taking the reins for the episodes, and we know them.

As well as titles and writers for Outlander Season 5’s first four episodes being confirmed, we now know who the directors will be. In fact, we already know them—one for already being part of Outlander as a director and another previously confirmed through resumes.

There is a lot of speculation and misinformation out there right now for Outlander Season 5. My information comes from a STARZ press release about the first four episodes. Whenever something is just speculation or rumors, I’ll always make a note of it.

So, who are the directors? There will be two directors for the first four episodes. Like with the fourth season, directors are taking two episodes at a time, which suits the way the show films in blocks.

Stephen Woolfenden, who directed just one episode of the 13-episode fourth season, will return to direct two episodes of Season 5. We already knew that he would return, and he’s going to direct Episodes 1 and 2 of the season. This suits the fact that Woolfenden was on location scouts in March ahead of filming beginning in April.

The other director is new to the world of Outlander, but we previously learned that Jamie Payne would direct at least one episode based on Bronwyn James’ resume. He’s going to direct two episodes, Episodes 3 and 4 of the fifth season. That certainly suggests that the Beardsley storyline is going to be relatively early in the season.

We’re still waiting on information about other seasons. One thing this continues to remind us of is that we need to be careful with what we look at online. Anyone can share anything.
