Outlander Season 5 filming: Working on some reshoots

Outlander Season 5 is still part of the way through filming the final episodes. Reshoots of some earlier scenes are also happening right now.

We know that Outlander Season 5 is on its final block. While at Sasnak City 2019, there were mentions of filming wrapping around Nov. 17. That wasn’t a definitive date given, but a rough idea of how much time is left on the clock. And we know that the show is pretty much on schedule.

Filming continues on the final episodes, which the cast involved in filming have been extremely excited about fans seeing. They wouldn’t give spoilers, but they did share that there are some exciting moments that even book fans may not expect. Changes? Maybe but they could also be just moments from later books added in since production knows it has a sixth season confirmed, allowing for cliffhangers and telling specific storylines more like a TV show than a book series.

Either way, something that Cesar Domboy shared was that some filming would be reshoots. This often has to happen due to scenes not quite working out during the editing process or because there are extra moments the producers would like to fit in. Or something doesn’t cut right or there’s a spotted error (like a Starbucks cup, maybe? *cough* Game of Thrones *cough*).

Whatever the reason, Domboy had to fly back to Scotland earlier than initially planned on Sunday after Sasnak City to make sure he was back in time for filming. This is something that happens regularly, which is why Richard Rankin, Duncan Lacroix, and Steven Cree had to cancel their appearances (not all for Outlander). It’s the actor’s life.
