STARZ shares bright behind-the-scenes photo from Outlander Season 5 set

Ready for another behind-the-scenes look at Outlander Season 5? STARZ has you covered on social media, and it will make you smile.

We’re not getting much from Outlander Season 5 filming, so we’ll take the little behind-the-scenes looks that are available. One of those came this week, with the official Outlander social media team releasing a bright and happy behind-the-scenes image of Brianna Randall Fraser MacKenzie (try saying that twice as fast).

We don’t get to see too much—although I love the guy on the cellphone in the background, making it extremely clear that this was all caught between takes!—but it does tell us one thing. Brianna is getting more time with Jamie and Claire throughout the fifth season. Sophie Skelton is laughing at something Sam Heughan has said to her, indicating they’re doing a scene together.

It’s good to get some smiles right now. We know that Season 5 is going to be a difficult one. After all, this is the season that’s tremulous for Roger, and you can find out why if you want the book spoilers! Brianna probably won’t have too much to smile about when she gets her husband back after his upcoming ordeal—and there’s no way that the show could miss that part out! Could they?

The behind-the-scenes image may have been taken from an earlier episode, of course. There is a chance that the social media team is sharing footage from earlier in the season just to keep us on our toes.

Whenever it’s from, it does tell us that there’s more time on the Ridge. Just behind Sophie is a horse (and yes, the guy on his cellphone), which suggests that the Ridge is growing and we’ll get to see more time for the group as a family.

What I will say is that I love there are more images being shared. W Network continues to put out short clips to get through Droughtlander, but in the past, STARZ has been known to take its foot off the gas, even on the show’s official social media platforms. Why promote the show before the lead-up to the new season premiering?

There were a lot of complaints from fans last Droughtlander about the lack of promotion for the show. It looks like STARZ has taken that on board to share a little something now and then to keep the show in focus and just give us a look at some of the things happening on set.
