Matt B. Roberts offers Outlander Season 6 writer’s room update
Outlander Season 5 production may still be ongoing, but work on Season 6 has started. Matt B. Roberts has shared a writer’s room update.
Production on Outlander Season 5 continues. We know that the show is filming the penultimate block and will be moving onto the last two episodes of the season very soon. However, production on Outlander Season 6 has already started.
Very recently, showrunner Matt B. Roberts shared he had been reading through “A Breath of Snow and Ashes,” the sixth book in the series written by Diana Gabaldon. We got to see a number of sticky marks, where Roberts has made a note of the most important parts of the books.

Now, it turns out Season 6 production is moving further. The writer’s room has been set up. What he doesn’t share is who will write the first episode, but that’s likely because nobody knows. Before the assignments can be given, a timeline of events and a discussion of the important scenes that need to be kept will have to happen.
It’s non-stop for Roberts at the moment. We do hope that he’s looking after himself while he jumps between the two seasons. After all, we know that he’s going to continue with Season 5 filming while New York Comic-Con happens. It would be very easy to burn out.

The great news about getting the writer’s room set up at the moment is that it could help to keep the next Droughtlander to a minimum. Of course, then discussions of Season 7 will start; most importantly, whether STARZ will renew the series for a seventh season and do that in good time to keep that Droughtlander as short as possible.
