Outlander fabric for Claire used a second time in Carnival Row

Fans have spotted the fabric used for Claire in Outlander Season 4 on the lead character in Carnival Row Season 1. Did you spot it used a second time?

Carnival Row debuted on Amazon Prime Video over Labor Day weekend. Outlander fans immediately recognized a piece of fabric on the lead character, Vignette Stonemoss, played by Cara Delevingne. Did you spot the fabric used a second time?

Terry Dresbach, costume designer for Outlander between Seasons 1 and 4, took to Twitter to share a photo of the lead character’s jacket. She explained that most period productions in the UK use the same store to buy all their fabric, so it’s not surprising that the same fabric was sourced. The difference is the fabric was used for a jacket in Carnival Row but used as a shirt for Claire in Season 4.

Well, it turns out the fabric was used at least a second time. Carnival Row’s Portia Fife is spotted wearing the fabric for a dress in a number of episodes of the first season. It blends in well with the long-sleeved dress (or maybe top) that she wears underneath. The dress does look more like an apron than a dress, but she wears it out of her house too.

I don’t want to say who Portia is in the series, except that she’s played by The Frankenstein Chronicles‘ Maeve Dermody. Her character is directly connected to Orlando Bloom’s Philo in Carnival Row, but I’ll avoid the spoilers. This is definitely a series you’re going to want to check out as a fan of Claire and Jamie, and not just because Andrew Gower is a series regular.
