More 1960s filming possibly spotted for Outlander Season 5
There may be more scenes set in the 1960s in Outlander Season 5. More filming was spotted at Queens Park and it could further push a change to the books.
There may be some more changes to the books. Or it’s possible that some of the books are being combined or we’re getting more flashbacks. Either way, it looks like there are more 1960s scenes in Outlander Season 5.
Filming took place in Queens Park in July, according to Outlander Locations. This park is a stunning part of Glasgow but is one of the more modern locations. Also, there were people spotted in 1960s clothing around the filming, suggesting that there’s going to be another slight change.

Of course, it’s possible that the show is just adding more flashbacks. This wouldn’t be the first time the show has added in flashbacks that weren’t part of the books. In the first season, we got a few flashes back to the 1940s as Claire remembered locations she and Frank visited. There was even a full episode that included Frank scenes that weren’t ever part of any of the books. The idea is to flesh out side characters, which is a necessary part of TV and isn’t gained as much through first-person POV storytelling.

As more characters gain focus, more development is needed. The 1960s could be some of Claire’s memories. There’s certainly a moment from filming that suggests we’re getting a 1968 Claire flashback. We could also see some of Brianna’s memories of her past, showing why she’s independent and unable to quickly conform to 18th century standards.
It’s certainly going to be intriguing to see what’s to come in Outlander Season 5.
