There’s one book scene that Outlander EP, Toni Graphia, has been trying to get into the TV series from the beginning. Which one just isn’t fitting in?

There are many favorite moments from the novels that don’t quite make it to the TV series. This is often due to timing. However, there’s one scene that Outlander executive producer, Toni Graphia, keeps trying to fit in.

This isn’t about the carving of the initials into the hands. This is a scene that the showrunners would like to include but it hasn’t worked so far. However, there’s another scene – one that could be harder to fit in now that the show is set in North Carolina for the most part.

Graphia told Digital Spy that it’s the smaller book moments that are just so hard to get into the show and keep there. These smaller moments are those that tend to hit the cutting room floor because the show needs to have the drama and intensity. It can’t have the peaks and troughs that books can, with every episode needing something big happening.

However, there is a moment she wishes that could have made it and it goes all the way back to the first novel. Jamie is talking about Scotland and how he knows the land so well. He knows the trees and can tell when it will rain because of the leaves. The focus is on why Jamie loves his home so much, and it’s not surprising hearing that when he isn’t the one who initially wants to remain in North Carolina.

Graphia has tried to fit it in. Each time it hasn’t worked or it’s been cut out due to timing. And each time, she’s disappointed not to get it in there.

And now it’s going to be a little harder to put into the series. With the show’s setting now being in North Carolina, there’s not going to be the chance for the conversation, unless it’s Jamie reminiscing about Scotland.

Of course, there is a chance in Outlander Season 6, which is when the Frasers go back to Scotland for a short time. This could be the perfect time for some reminiscing of the past.
