Outlander Season 5 casting: Show possibly looking for two sets of twins
Outlander Season 5 casting notices may have been published. It looks like the show is casting two sets of twins. What could this mean?
A casting notice on the Real People Casting Facebook Page has certainly led to speculation that the show is looking for actors for Outlander Season 5. The casting is for two sets of twins — but no, it won’t be those twins you’re thinking of!
There’s a high chance that this casting notice is for Outlander. The notice is for a “Highland themed international TV show” and is for the Cumbernauld area. Our show certainly fits the bill. The timing is also on-point, as the actors will be needed in April, suggesting that filming is being held off until then.

Two sets of twins are needed. The first set will be babies and the second set around a year old. More importantly, the second set will need to be boys. That suggests the role is for babies in the series.
There’s a high chance that the babies will be for Brianna and Roger’s baby. Fans have definitely asked for a new baby to be cast in the role since the original baby didn’t like to be held by Sam Heughan.
The second set could mean there’s going to be a time jump of about a year. However, it could also be for Marsali and Fergus’ son, Germaine. He would be about a year old in the series now that Brianna and Roger’s son is born, and with the two now at Fraser’s Ridge, we’ll likely see a bit more of him.

Casting twins for young children isn’t uncommon. In fact, it’s sometimes a necessity due to child labor laws. For babies, the casting is usually gender neutral since babies are just held and, really, they all look very similar. It’s only as they get older that a gender is announced.
Real People Casting has been involved in Outlander in the past, sharing photos recently as a look back at some of the young stars that were in the series, including Young Jamie from the first season. It’s almost like a hint that this is the show looking for new young talent.
This also isn’t the first time this year that the “Highland themed” show has been mentioned this year. Earlier in March, a call was put out to update sizings for costume fittings as this can be how Real People Casting put people forward for particular shows.
It looks like filming isn’t going to start until April now for Outlander Season 5, but it’s exciting.
