Outlander Untold: Should there be more scenes for Season 5?
Outlander Untold will feature on the Season 4 DVD and Blu-ray. Should Season 5 include more of these scenes?
During the Entertainment Weekly Facebook Live, Maril Davis and Toni Graphia shared that there would be some scenes created specifically for the DVD and Blu-ray. Known as Outlander Untold, there will be four bonus scenes that focus on some of the smaller characters in the series. Is this something that should continue moving forward?
Of course, filming for the actual episodes in Outlander Season 5 will always need to take priority. However, there’s no denying that there are other moments throughout the books that fans would love to translate on screen. There just isn’t enough time for these moments to take place, as the focus needs to be on the main storylines and the character development.

Outlander Untold is going to give production a chance to add more depth to the story. There’s a chance to develop other characters and bonds; those that aren’t as important now but could become essential moving forward. Plus, there’s more in the world of Outlander for the fans that would like it.
By putting the scenes on the DVD and Blu-ray, it certainly gives fans a reason to buy the boxsets. There’s extra content that makes the boxsets something special — and not just for the deleted scenes. Fans will get this chance to delve further into the world and learn more about the individual characters.
However, production will still need to make sure any relationship and bond developments in these Outlander Untold scenes are still shown in normal production. Not everyone will want to or can afford to buy the DVDs. While the scenes will be special, they need to be “as well as” and not “in place of” future scenes.
