4. Protecting Murtagh and the jailer

More from Top Moments

At the very end, Fergus manages to get Murtagh free from the jail. Brianna is there to see it all and manages to convince John to allow them all to go free. She may not know Murtagh as well as Fergus, but he has become like family to her. This was the only person not involved in the mess that led to Roger being sold to the Mohawks.

However, it’s not just her need to protect Murtagh. She was the one to protect the jailer who had been knocked out. After all, it wasn’t the jailer’s fault that he could have ended up roasted.

3. Choosing to face Bonnet

When Brianna learned of Stephen Bonnet’s arrest, she knew what she needed to do. After reading Jamie’s letter, she knows that she can’t kill him. So, instead, she decides she wants to face him. She needs to be able to put all this behind her.

This isn’t a meeting of revenge. She didn’t want to just taunt him that she would potentially have his child and would never know it. Brianna wanted to potentially get some answers and make it clear that he would be forgotten. She wanted closure, making a mature decision.
