Outlander Season 4, Episode 10 Inside the World hints at possible deleted scene

The Outlander Season 4, Episode 10 Inside the World delves into the title of the episode, hinting at what could be a deleted scene. It also shares more about that moment between Brianna and Jamie.

The title of Outlander Season 4, Episode 10 doesn’t necessarily mean much right now. Even watching the episode, it can seem a little strange. Similarly to Episode 3, the title came from a piece of literature but unlike the episode, the literature was removed.

“The False Bride” title came from the song that Roger sang during the episode. While there was a connection to Brianna’s storyline, it was always about that song. Episode 10 was supposed to feature a poem called “In the Deep Heart’s Core.”

It’s a poem in “Drums of Autumn” and would have originally been used in the previous episode. However, writer Luke Schelhaas wanted to use the poem in his own episode. Unfortunately, the poem never made it to the final cut, but could we possibly see it as a deleted scene? It’s always possible.

The Season 4, Episode 10 Inside the World featurette also shared more about the scene between Jamie and Brianna. There was a chance for them to bond, as Jamie made it clear to Brianna that she would have never been able to fight off Bonnet.

I love that this scene actually uses the idea of fighting wolves off with bare hands, which is something Claire had to do in the first novel (something that never made it to the show). It felt like a nod to that moment in the book, and while the Inside the World doesn’t touch on that, there is a beautiful discussion about why this moment was so important to stay in.
