Outlander: Claire and Jamie’s new life in America gets tricky
Outlander Season 4 will see Claire and Jamie start a new life in America. What trouble will they run into this time?
We’re on a daily countdown to Outlander Season 4’s premiere. STARZ is the same and the official Outlander Twitter account shared the most recent promo of Claire and Jamie’s life in America. This time it’s a focus on the troubles they’ll face while there, but are the troubles enough to tear them apart?
Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan tease some of the things to come for our favorite couple. This is Claire and Jamie’s strongest season together. They’re finally at a point where they are happy together. They want to start a life together and that life is going to be in the New World.

It’s certainly not going to be easy for them. They’re in the Colonies during one of the most dangerous times ever. Not only are they facing against the Natives that are being forced off their land and into reservations (thanks to the British, yet again), but the Colonial Patriots are getting ready for the Revolutionary War.
We know that Jamie will head to his Aunt Jocasta’s, but that brings its own problems. During the promo from STARZ, it’s clear that the use of slaves on the plantation is going to rub Claire the wrong way. She immediately makes it clear that she doesn’t want to be called “mistress” but “Claire,” and the two female slaves are certainly uncomfortable with that.
If it wasn’t for the slaves on the plantation, Jocasta and Claire could possibly be friends. They’re both smart, determined women. However, the wish to make the plantation slaves free is going to rub Jocasta the wrong way.
And while that happens, the Frasers have to build their own home on land that isn’t easy for them to accept. Claire knows they’ll end up on the wrong side of history again, but what other choice do they have right now? At least Claire is getting ready for a fight.
