Congratulations Outlander fans, you’ve successfully voted Outlander into the top 10 of The Great American Read so far. There’s still time to get it all the way to the top spot.

The Great American Read was a fun initiative to get more people reading amazing classics throughout the summer. Fans of individual books and full series had the chance to vote for their favorites. Out of 100 books, the top 10 has now been released and Outlander has made it to the list.

Considering the fandom when it comes to voting, this really shouldn’t be surprising. We’re a loud, passionate bunch and I mean that in every positive way possible. None of us are afraid to share what we love/hate, why we love/hate it, and what we need more of (Lord John Grey for me, please!).

More from Outlander News

When Outlander made it into the top 40 books, we were proud and pleased, right? Well, we certainly didn’t take the breaks off the voting. Everyone deserves a pat on the back because right now we’re in the top 10.

PBS hasn’t released the top 10 in order of votes but in alphabetical order. There’s no telling whereabouts in The Great American Read list we are. The top 10 is:

1. Charlotte’s Web
2. Chronicles of Narnia (series)
3. Gone with the Wind
4. Harry Potter (series)
5. Jane Eyre
6. Little Women
7. Lord of the Rings (series)
8. Outlander (series)
9. Pride and Prejudice
10. To Kill a Mockingbird

There are some excellent novels and book series on this list. Some of them have been hard to choose, but I’m proud to see Outlander with To Kill a MockingbirdPride and Prejudice, and so many other classics. It goes to show what the time-traveling love story means to us all.

By the way, 3.5 billion votes have been cast so far according to a recent press release sent by PBS! Since people can vote multiple times, it’s not clear how many people that is, but it still says plenty about the impact this is having. People are passionate about their books and the whole series has been a success in getting people to read more.

Voting isn’t over yet. We’ve got until Oct. 18 at 11:59 p.m. PT to make sure Diana Gabaldon’s novels make it to the top spot. All will be revealed in a special, live episode of The Great American Read on Oct. 23, 2018, with Diana Gabaldon as one of the guests during the episode.

You can still vote in all the ways previously announced by PBS.
